I’ve been on the brand standards team at Capital One since 2019. My team creates and maintains the guidance for Capital One’s brand identity including personality, color, typography, photography and more. We refreshed the brand in 2024, which was an overhaul of our guidelines and assets. My team worked diligently creating the new brand’s look as well as carefully crafting standards.

My team worked directly with an outside agency to develop a new approach to Capital One’s illustration. Previously relying on stock, we created a fresh custom illustration library for creatives to use that felt clean, modern and distinctive.

The Venture X card marked the beginning of Capital One moving into the premium space. I personally designed the card utilizing a simple design paired with meticulous printing techniques to give the card a unique sheen. This approach and design structure set the standard for all new Capital One cards moving forward.
